FFC Hagen wins German championship | Posted on: 11/06/2014

The Sports Hall of the lippe-vocational college in Lippstadt proved to be a happy hunting ground for the FFC Hagen: On the last of four round match days of the German Bundesliga, the national league, the team with David Zentarra, Stefan Blank and Christopher Zentarra gained the German team championship. In the decisive battle with champion Flying Feet Haspe the FFC trio prevailed 21-15, 21:19 and took the 16th German title for Europe's oldest shuttlecock club.

The FFC benefited from the fact that defending champion Haspe had to played without Marcel Scheffel. who was not fit again after a knee operation. For him Max Duchene stood next to Torben Nass and Philip Kühne on the court. While the FFC controlled the first set easily, the Hasper had a good 4: 1 start into the second set. They were able to maintain this lead until 14:11, before David Zentarra, Stefan Blank and Christopher Zentarra managed to get a 19:14-lead. Apparently already in a celebratory mood, the FFC team lost again the thread and had to tremble for the 21:19 set and game win.

FFC Hagen 2 had also reason to celebrate. On the final day of the 2nd Bundesliga the trio with Sarah Walter, Florian Krick and Yvo Rüsseler won the league and were promoted to the Bundesliga together with second placed TV Lipperode 3 with Tanja Schlette, Kai Sauermann and Jens Eckernkemper.
